Our Gallery Series Topography + Bathymetry 3D Maps represent the most complete and immersive cartographic work we create—designed for places where the story of the land is inseparable from the water and the paths that cross it.
 
This collection captures elevation above sea level, depth below it, and the human routes that connect the two, making it ideal for coastal regions, lake towns, river systems, island landscapes, and terrain shaped equally by mountains and water.
 
Each map is constructed from ten precision laser-cut layers, all crafted from premium 1/4" birch, selected for its strength, stability, and clean edge definition:
Four topographical terrain layers revealing ridges, valleys, and elevation shifts
Four bathymetric water layers illustrating depth transitions beneath lakes, rivers, or coastal waters
One engraved land layer detailing secondary roads and pathways that define how the landscape is experienced
One top border cap layer, framing the piece and completing the composition with a finished, architectural presence
 
Together, these layers create a commanding sense of vertical relief—allowing the viewer to intuitively understand how the land rises, falls, meets the water, and is traversed.
Hand-Finished for Depth, Balance, and Readability
 
Every Gallery Series map is hand-painted and hand-finished, with land and water treated as distinct but complementary elements.
Topography is painted using controlled gradient elevation techniques, transitioning naturally from lower elevations to higher ground to reinforce terrain clarity and scale.
Bathymetry is finished with transparent layered tones, progressing from shallow to deep water to communicate depth without overpowering the land.
Road engravings are integrated subtly, adding context while preserving visual calm.
 
The use of 1/4" birch throughout allows for deeper shadow lines, crisper layer separation, and a physical presence that immediately distinguishes the Gallery Series from thinner, decorative map products.

Every Gallery Series Topography + Bathymetry map includes a QR code–linked historical narration as standard.
 
By scanning the QR code, viewers can hear the story behind the place—its geological formation, settlement history, cultural significance, or the relationship between land, water, and movement that shaped the region. This narration transforms the map from a visual centerpiece into an immersive experience.
 
Optional Personalization — Replace History with Meaning
For those who want a deeper personal connection, the immersive experience can be upgraded to feature custom content in place of the historical narration.

Gallery Series Full Relief maps are intentionally built thicker, heavier, and more substantial than the Studio Series. Natural wood variation is embraced, but visible flaws are not. If a piece cannot meet Grade-A quality standards, it is remade—without exception.
